Even though the larger number of Windows 7 and 8.1 users moved on to Windows 10, there are still some that didnt do that. These users mostly hated Microsoft’s aggressive campaign, that automatically downloaded Windows 10 in the background of the system and annoyed the users to make the free upgrade.
Now to upgrade to Windows 10 you have to pay, that means that Windows 7 and 8.1 users dont receive any more messages for upgrades. Until now users had to download large system changing updates just to receive few small fixes.
Everything has changed now. Windows 7 and 8 users can now choose to download only security updates, without needing to download a new version of the operative system. This is much better for large companies that can monitor any changes via “ Configuration Manager” or “WSUS”.
With these changes, the users will not have to make any system changes to be safe. But, its a fact that there is only a small amount of updates Windows 7 and 8 receive and this change seems a bit late. It should have been brought when the users ware asked to install Windows 10, but better late than never.
